i am so sad to leave

i am really upset that i have to leave i miss american breakfast and having napkins and trashcans everywhere but thailand has beent he most mazing experience in life. thank you parentals and grandmere for making this happen for me and auntie and unkie and auntie dana and che for giving me money! and reading my blog and loving me. i am so happy and thankful for this trip. we saw ivf testing and little sperm floating around, we went out and partied with our thai students, i did a project on disability ethics that was bomb, made great friends, and made a music video! its called bahts on bahts because thats the thai currency.

i edited it and was the artistic director, i also did choreography.

im sorry but i had to do it
those things that ninjas use...they were 3 dollars and real...i was goign to buy one but then thought i wouldnt be able to take it on the plane
the snake int he ocean at koh samet...didnt get bak in there bc at the snake farm i learned that almost all the sea snakes in thailand are deadly
all the girls in our program!
i wasn't lying when i said that we were on a wild ride for that boat!
those hats!

hokay so

i only have a week left and im so sad

anyways the way you eat in thailand is by the spoon in ur left hand and a fork in your right. you gather the food onto your spoon and then put the spoon in ur mouth...for every type of food possible. its itneresting.

i found a lot of black people on the street corner where they sold weave..smh

the weekend was fun i went out with the homies on thursday and stayed in on friday because i was so tired. then saturday we went shopping at two places. i bought a lot of jewelry at jj's so my souvenirs are done then we went to platinum which is a 6 story mall. the map of the place was a book with tabs and wa sthe largest mall i have ever been too. i left after three floors. i cant describe to you how close the stores were or how many cute clothes there were. too bad the mall was one size fits all and that size was a size double zero. i asked to see a skirt and the lady laughed at me! presumably bc it wouldnt fit....like that would never happen in america im not large! -_- whatever. i bought a cute dress but need to get it hemmed. we shall see. we ended up going out to khaosarn that night which was just as crazy as the first time.
we got drinks and people watched. some black men from kenya harrassed us and we ran. we went to one club and danced on stage then moved to the next. we shared a bucket and found some more people. a man followed me out of the club but thank god we all were together and were able to ward him off. there were thai gangsters in the club. they threw up gang signs. and essentially he was wearing a dickies outfit all in red and all so baggy. they were a little behind on the times, still wearing bandanas and things. twas comical. i ended up dance battling one of them and then we shook hands.

the next day we went to the floating market finally! it was literally amazing. for 6 dollars we took a boat ride and reeled in if there was any food or souvenirs that we see. i have a lot of pics but my friends bought hats that were like the triangle ones and when we got off the boat and had bought everything we were perusing on land. a baby elephant strolled up behind us and used his trunk to try and get food! it was adorable. i held its trunk and really bonded with him. sigh, he was rolling around and doing tricks and stuff. also when we went back home we also saw a baby elephant on our street just walking around lol. it was fab.

i think worked with lucy all day sunday on our project. we are trying to get a good case study about mental disability informed consent right to die ethics in america and thailand.

so a word on the elephants. im really sad the way people treat them because i love them so. i think its like unethical to have them and take them fromt eh jungle. but i just learned all the jungles are disappearing in thailand and that the elephants are slowly just starving. so i have changed my minds and am happy people take them in i just wish they were nicer to them. they are really so intelligent.

also more people in the world have their own pet tigers than there are in the wild. so they will be extinct soon. im happy i could touch a tiger even if it was a lil sedated :(.

remind me to tell you the story of our taxi getting stopped on the way back from the floaty market ;).

the way to write lol in thailand is 555

because the number 5 is ha, so 555=hahaha

anyhoo yesterday and today have been brilliant, we had interesting lectures yesterday about care to those in disaster situations, who gets what resources, when, and why? what if everyone needs the same amount of resources and are in the same condition, how then would you provide car? today was the most interesting day yet though, we went to a cosmetic hospital where they do gender reassignment surgery! the pics felt like i was in the surgery room! at this hospital they hold beauty pageants and all the nurses are beautiful and wear skin tight perwinkle suits and heels, it was a little strange. we then went to a alternative medicine clinic and i got acupuncture (i hated it bc it felt like the needle was going into my nerve and i couldnt move my pinky :() and i did cupping. they heat these bowls and put them on ur back and then move them up and down, my back is all red and i have two cup bruises on my shoulder but i felt like a million bucks afterwards.

the real fun was last night we went out with the thai students. i found out most of htem were underaged! 18. one girl got turned away so we went to another place. it was so much fun. i ran into a mcdonalds sliding glass door, they must clean those things every second because it literally looked like air in front of me. i also simultaneously spilled my pork soup on my foot and it was painful. on the way bak everyone was asleep in the car except me and lucy and we sang pretty girl rock while are crazy cab driver rapped the portions. i felt like i was in tokyo drift because he floored every turn and it was just extreme...but he was fun i guess lol. pics coming now

heading forr the night from left to right : roman,fu,praew,me,carla, tamar, sarah
a place we stopped off int hey were playing wiz which was tight
 cool area
 lasers everywhere
 across the street
some girls knew the owner of this place so they let in the children
 on our thrones inside!
the place was cool it was grafitti everywhere
 me fu and carla
left to right: jen sarah, me praew, pat, lily, and lucy
me and pat, thats fu's girlfriend apparently they both ace allt heir classes she is 18 and he is 19 but they are both 3rd yr college studens
me and the thai girls love iiit
me and nung he couldnt get in sadly
 nung and the big dog
i made friends with the lady that helped with the bathroom she was so nice!
 they were so asleep
 our insane taxi driver
every place we go they have signs like this its amazing, its weird because we are treated so well yet i think a place in america wouldnt go through the same touble
 bangkok
better view from the top of the hospital
hyperbaric chambers, athletes come here to get more oxygen before a big meet or game, also its for people with brain disorders
 the fits of the nurses
they also had roller blade nurses whizzing around everywhere
the menu in the hospital was legit a five course meal, so if ur flying in from another country the itnernational department arranges a car to pick u up and go straight to the hospital and you stay in really nice rooms
im just saying this hospital room is nicer than my dorm and it had a whole other section with a couch tv bathroom and kitchen next door...must be the life to fly to thailand and pay and get whatever plastic surgery you want...living in luxury! 555 :)

I saw a person animorph into a dog that day they were fighting...too much true blood?

so some thangs about thailand u should know:
1. the ketchup tastes weird along with the pasta bolognese its so sweet
2. the thai girls where those contacts that make your eyes look SUPER BIG
3. the thai girls all look so cute in their uniform! they wear heels and stuff and accessories to be cute so i bought a belt clamp and a belt like them ill show u the pics
4. in order to make a u turn they build ramps and stuff that go up high so there is like a road to take when u want to u turn
5. there is only one mall that sells dr. pepper and its like 2 dollars a can bc its important whereas the sprite is like 10 bht or some cents
5. i have now seen 4 black people in all of thailand and they were all men...wonder why...the first was the man playing the bongos offbeat at that bar and the other three were at the gym
6. u can get a great steak here for 5 dollars

food for thought:
-the ethics of surrogacy are very extensive and extend far beyond the whole paying for a baby or paying for hte service, for instance the religion of the baby, what to be included in the contract, will genetic and psychological testing be necessary for both the commissioning parents and the surrogate?
-also the question of do the ends justify the means. historically disadvantaged minorities and vulnerable populations have been the subject of many clinical trials and testings on the first rounds. even if there isnt a vulnerable population used in most historical medical advances the first clinical trials have proven to kill many people yet now vaccines save lives, and so do other medical advances. even tho the means of getting there sucked, do the ends justify them? if you answered yes, how can you be ok knowing that you are killing people and usually not protecting their rights? if you answered no how would u protect the rights of the people yet still have medical advances? a huge ethical debate that is pretty uncomfortable when you think about it...
